Are there currently any digs being conducted in the North Alabama, Lower Tennessee area? I would love to volunteer at a dig site. Who do I need to contact? Thanks for any help you can generate.

The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library would like to extend to you a personal invitation to participate in the third semi-annual Words from the River: A Shoals Authors Fair, occurring Saturday, May 18, 2013, 10:00am-4:00pm. In the past, we have held this event in the fall prior to the holiday season. In fact, we have heard a lot of feedback from our authors expressing disappointment that we did not host the event this past fall. But because we had a successful event for two consecutive years, we did not want attendance to decrease and for you all, as authors, to lose business due to the event remaining exactly the same. Therefore, we have decided to hold this year’s event during the Arts Alive Festival. This seems like a perfect opportunity for all of our authors, as artists, to promote their work and gain customers through the additional foot traffic of Arts Alive.
Logistically, we ask that you bring your own books to be sold and signed. We will provide the tables and tablecloths so that the books might be displayed. You are welcome to bring materials to enhance your table display and advertise your publications. You will also be responsible for handling your own book sales. Please keep in mind that this year’s event will be held outside on the library lawn across from the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts.
We ask that you respond as soon as possible as to whether you will be able to participate or not. If you are interested in participating, you can email me and I will send the Book/Applicant Information Form to fill out.
